Maalaea is centrally located on Maui, only twelve miles (15 minutes) from Kahului Airport. Maalaea provides you with unequalled access to all of the activities on the island. To the East towers mighty Haleakala, and to the West the stunning beauty of Iao Valley, a hikers delight. A short drive to the West (20 minutes) brings you to historical Lahaina town. Another short drive to the South (15 minutes) and you can take in all the activities of Kihei, beautiful Wailea and Makena. Just a fifteen minute drive gives you access to two of Maui's wonderful 18 hole golf courses, the Sandalwood Golf Course and Silversword Golf Course.

Within walking distance there are a host of activities including snorkeling, diving and a magnificent five mile beach walk adjacent to the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge. Maalaea Harbor is home to boats that offer diving, snorkeling trips, and deep sea fishing adventures. Boogie boarding, body surfing, wind surfing, and surfing are among the water activities just out your front door. Freight Train, reputed to be one of the worlds fastest surfing waves, is here too.

Maalaea is where whales come to have their babies and can be watched from shore, your Lanai, or whale watching boat tours that depart from Maalaea Harbor daily during the seasonal migration.

The Maui Ocean Center Salt Water Aquarium is the largest tropical aquarium in the Western Hemisphere. Discover thousands of awe-inspiring fish, sharks and corals within  50 marine habitats. Journey beneath the sea through a 750,000 gallon ocean exhibit all in complete comfort and safety.

The Maui Ocean Center and Maalaea Village Shops and Restaurants offer plenty of browsing, shopping and dining experiences to tempt the palate of even the most discerning customers.
